Fate is a fickle thing.
When Nate meets Ellie during his senior year of high school, he believes they are fated to love each other through their most challenging moments. With dreams of escaping their abusive homes, they plan to leave their past behind and start a new, happier life together.
Fate is unpredictable.
Not every story has a happy ending, and not every love is meant to survive, and finally Nate and Ellie face one storm their relationship is unable to survive. And so they go their own ways, never to see each other again, until...
Eight years later, Nate is engaged to Ellie's sister. After being tasked with retrieving her wedding dress, the two take off on a trip to Brazil.
Fate is uncontrollable.
But when their plane goes down in the Amazon, the two must fight to survive in the jungle, while unraveling the events of their past and exposing the truths that could tear them apart.
Fate brought them together. And fate tore them apart. Will fate give them a second chance at love?
Sometimes your second chance is also your goodbye.

I know a lot of people liked this book so please don’t come after me.
The story line was interesting which is what kept me going. I wanted to know how it was going to end. It had potential but felt like it just dragged on with unnecessary dialog and context.
The same things kept being repeated. I started cringing every single time the FMC said “My Sister”.
There would be chapters I really liked, that’s flowed well and then it would revert right back to the cringe.
My favorite part was the giant iguana.
Then the ending… I didn’t even cry. I was more annoyed. I did feel empathy for the characters, that’s a lot of pain to go through.
All in all I don’t think I’d ever read this book again or continue the series.
