Could you survive the arena?

Four Marines slip through a chasm in time, 2,000 years into the past. They find themselves in the Flavian Amphitheater in ancient Rome. Forced to become gladiators or die, Dean, Thad, Greg, and Marco struggle to survive the horrendous bloodshed and slaughter on the killing grounds of the famous arena.

Is there hope of survival? Can they escape their prison and at what cost? Once modern-day Marines, they have all become yesterday’s warriors.

S.A. Ison crafts a sprawling epic fantasy tale in Yesterday's Warrior, taking readers on an exciting journey through magic, political intrigue, and thrilling battles. The plot keeps readers guessing with its many twists and turns. However, one element that holds the story back is its narration.

Thaddeus, our protagonist, tells the story from beginning to end. While he serves well enough to drive the adventure forward, his narration voice remains remarkably consistent regardless of the emotions or dangers of any given scene. There is little that distinguishes how he describes a moment of levity from one of intense fear or loss. This makes it difficult at times to engage emotionally with the significant events of the story. With more nuanced shifts in Thaddeus's narration, readers could have felt more invested in his journey from start to finish.

This was an outstanding story. I'm enthralled with ancient Rome and time travel and this story provides both. The only con is that it's only a 6 hour story. This should be at least a 10 hour performance. The main parts of the story seam to go by too fast a could benefit from more Detail.

All in all I'd happily spend another credit to enjoy the story again

Loved it!
