Tante Poldi ist sauer: Zuerst wird ihr das Wasser abgestellt, dann auch noch der Hund ihrer Freundin um die Ecke gebracht. Kreizsacklzement! Erste Ermittlungen führen sie zum Winzer Avola. Und der ist auch noch so hammer-attraktiv, dass die Poldi nach einer heißen Nacht prompt ihre Ermittlungen vergisst. Bis am nächsten Morgen die Polizei vor Avolas Tür steht.

Bei der Poldi bleibt's weiterhin turbulent. Es kreuzen wieder mal viel zu viele Männer ihren Weg, die ihr das Leben schwermachen. Und dann ist auch noch einer verschwunden: Thomas, der vor zwei Wochen mit einem Koffer äußerst wertvollen Inhalts von Tansania nach Europa aufgebrochen ist. Dass er diesen Koffer einem afrikanischen Boss gestohlen hat, macht die Sache nicht unbedingt besser. Als Poldi Thomas schließlich aufspürt, ist der Afrikaner leider bereits mausetot und auch nicht mehr ganz vollständig.

Blöderweise sieht es nicht so aus, als ob sie den überleben würde. Denn als in Rom eine junge Ordensschwester vom Dach des Apostolischen Palastes stürzt, gerät die Poldi höchstpersönlich unter Verdacht. Einziger Hinweis auf den Täter: eine Schwarze Madonna. Und diesmal hat es die Poldi mit sehr gefährlichen Leuten zu tun. Als sich dann noch in Torre Archirafi auf einmal alle von ihr abwenden, reicht es ihr. Krachledern, mit Perücke und tüchtig Dings stürzt die Poldi sich in einen neuen Fall und gerät mit dem Commissario ihres Herzens voll ins Visier der Mörder.

Es ist so weit: Die Poldi heiratet Montana. So jedenfalls der Plan. Die Hochzeitsvorbereitungen laufen auf vollen Touren, bei manchen liegen die Nerven bereits blank.
