While the planet Naugh is under siege, more invasions start popping up across Frontier worlds. Alien fleets led by phantom Imperial warships that are not supposed to exist. Caught between time, a lack of supplies, badly trained troops, and numerous foes, Grand Admiral Aatroxiss is pressed to his limits to free Naugh and bring back some semblance of order to the Frontier.

With Admiral Gorgo's personal empire decapitated, dozens of systems are in the lurch. Without supply lines and a clear chain of command, it's up to the Grand Admiral to step in and clean things up before too many people starve to death...or worse. Some of the systems have accepted his command authority and new supply lines are forming, but others are not. Some are defiantly claiming independence, while others are searching for options to continue their barbaric ways that they know Aatroxiss will stop.

The insectoid alien race known as the Vitri have invaded the Imperial world of Naugh in retribution for the deal broken by Grand Admiral Aatroxiss. Doing the right thing has consequences, and by saving the Turook he has doomed another world to slaughter if the Empire can't take it back in time. Aatroxiss and his flagship, the Redemption, arrive to meet up with the Imperial forces already engaged in battle, but what the Emperor's sole Grand Admiral finds there is far more than expected.

When his old Spymaster reappears to help Aatroxiss in his struggles against the Frontier invasions and, ultimately, against the Empire itself, information becomes the most important factor as the number of alien invasions backed by Imperial warships increases dramatically. With too few ships to adequately defend every star system, it's a matter of coming to the rescue too late and hoping to catch and destroy the invading fleets before they can attack again.

Follow a core group of characters known as the Trailblazers as they use alien technology and knowledge discovered in Antarctic ruins to obtain limited immortality and lead humanity out into the galaxy, encountering, befriending, and fighting hundreds of alien races all the while desperately trying to prepare Earth for the unbeatable threat at the core of the Milky Way that is destined to return and reclaim their lost colony...and their former human slaves.

The Jaegers are pushing deep into Star Force territory on an exploratory mission, bypassing the V'kit'no'sat Grand Border. The only question is, how far will they get before the might of the Empire whittles down their planet-sized Baseship to the point where they can destroy it.

In another galaxy, far, far away from Earth, an evil Empire controls 3/4ths of the star systems and yearns for more. Those regions not under their control have either traded obedience for their sovereignty, are too wild to tame, or too dangerous for Imperial troops to tread upon. The main thorn in the Emperor's side is the Frontier, which occupies a third of the lawless and barbaric Outer Rim. Countless commanders and fleets have been sent to pacify and annex it into the Empire. All have failed.

Esna Donovan was stranded on a planet full of people that didn't look like her as a child along with her brother. Their father was murdered, leaving them sitting in their spaceship waiting for his return. They remember almost nothing from before that time, when two Calavari who were business associates of their father took them in and told them they could never be seen outside their full body armor. They've honored their father's dying wish, living and working on the Calavari's farm while exploring the barren wastelands looking for bits of technological salvage.

Ever since the Elders deemed him unworthy, Cal-com had been lost. He knew now, or at least suspected, what their true reasons had been, but it still didn't take the sting away in his exile. Cal-com's journey is not at an end. In fact, it's just the beginning....

A Gauntlet War may seem inevitable. Multiple dominant races from different galaxies converge to annihilate you before retreating to their secret lairs waiting to be called out again. But the truth is, nothing is inevitable. And those conducting the invasions know this far better than their victims...

Earth's naivety has come to an end. The peace that they thought was their birthright is shattered when their true birthright returns in the form of an alien invasion bent on their total destruction...and from the Dinosaurs no less. The true history of Earth that Star Force has closely guarded is now revealed along with the death sentence for the Humans that are not allowed to exist by decree of the V'kit'no'sat Empire. Now the Star Force military must fight while the civilians are gradually evacuated rimward, but not all of them are going to make it....
