Those in power do not believe in the possibility of triumph against the will of the gods, and instead squander their time and effort in indulging their needs and desires as the world quickly rots away around them. Mankind’s only hope rests on the shoulders of a man they hate the most. A man who has taken every possible measure, both accepted and forbidden, to attain power. Sungchul Kim, the man who reached the pinnacle of strength, now stands alone against the Calamities. Not because he is a hero, but because of a promise.

Wielding the might of magic obtained under the noses of his enemies, Sungchul travels in search of opportunities to hone his powers of cosmomancy and alchemy to put an end to the first of the prophesized calamities. Unlike before, time is not on his side. Conspiracies brew in the dark, eating away at the foundations of the frontlines holding back the all-consuming army of the demons that threaten to unleash unimaginable horrors upon the world. The world titters ever closer to the edge of ruin, and the hour grows dark.

The next prophesied Calamity was one of Civil War. Even without the presence of seditious groups such as the Order of Extinction and the Followers of Calamities undermining the unity of the world, the many disparate Kingdoms were barely cooperative at best. Meanwhile, Sungchul becomes increasingly exposed to the legends of the ancient dungeons hidden away by the Lesser Gods, which held the key to immortality. With the many factions hell-bent on power, it seems all but inevitable that these long-forgotten Dungeons of the Gods return to the forefront of the world.

Ixion, the city of mages, has seemingly transformed into a perfect society. It faces no shortage of resources, thanks to Vestiare of the Seven Heroes and her Colossus. However, its inhabitants have turned to the heretical worshiping of a Lesser God. Beauty is skin deep, and this facade of perfection shrouds the intentions of the Seven Heroes: The Second Calamity.
