In 2117 a Rift starship had discovered that humans have invaded a planet they consider theirs. The humans are judged extremely dangerous and must be eliminated. It will take a while for them to return to reclaim their property. LCDR Rick Cassidy and GSGT Molly Pickford have become very important to the New Hope Colony.

The Rangers may have won a battle but the war is far from over. The question was: What would Rick Cassidy and Molly Pickford do? The answer certainly would not include asking permission to do what needed to be done. Three weeks into the alien invasion of the New Hope Colony on Tau Ceti 4, Major Naomi MacCaffrey, Captain Zoey Bryant and a group of other officers from the Hot Tub Brain Trust have proposed a raid on the New Cancun Ranger Base to recover material needed for the defense of the colony.

It's just over 10 days into an invasion by the alien Rift and their Andoval mercenaries and Commander Rick Cassidy and Gunnery Sergeant Molly Pickford have ramped up the pressure on the students and teachers to see just how far they can push them. Just how fierce are these girls?

Suspicious activity around some islands south of the Alpha continent has triggered a reaction at Colonial Ranger HQ. Decisions made at Ranger HQ mean that Lieutenant Commander Rick Cassidy and Gunnery Sergeant Molly Pickford will have to head to the eastern settlements. But first...Major Naomi MacCaffrey, the Canadian officer saved in Nigeria by Molly five years before, checks into the Logistics Directorate!

It's just two weeks into the alien invasion and the looming Battle of Winter Haven may be the end of the human presence on the eastern end of the Alpha continent. The aliens have shrugged off their loss at McKinley Pass and plan to overwhelm the defenders with their biggest attack yet. Can the aliens be stopped at Winter Haven? Everything may depend upon it.
