With bloodthirsty and mysterious forces hunting them down, one misstep could soon land the brazen duo back in the clutches of their nemesis. Will the fearless pair uncover their true purpose and save the kingdom before their past catches up and puts them in the grave?

Months after bringing down the last mark on the Black Slate, Sidney finds herself more isolated than ever. Buried in paperwork at the FBI, her feelings about the Deep Black operation begin to fester. Just when she’s about to lose it, Section Chief Ted Howard intervenes. The Black Slate has another assignment, but there’s a problem: John Smoke is nowhere to be found. Enter Mason Crow, the next name on the Slate. The file indicates that the man is an international butcher and has now taken his brutality to DC.

With his plans to find Dyphestive unraveling, Grey Cloak is kidnapped and forced into training. From those who struggle to mentor him there, he discovers his strong lineage and role in the Dragon Wars. After all, Anya and her dragon, Cinder, will do anything to help Grey Cloak in order to win the Dragon Wars and save them all. Vowing to escape by any means possible, the headstrong elf will not be swayed from his mission. As members of Talon search for Dyphestive, they must bravely venture into Dark Mountain to find out the fate of the burly blood brother.

In the final inning, Abraham must shut the enemy out or die. The invasion begins with an enemy the likes the people of Titanuus have never imagined. Armed with modern weaponry, diabolical forces muster at the Kingsland border wall, while savage barbarian forces called the Gond secretly lay siege upon the House of Steel. With the Crown of Stones incomplete and the king slipping into madness, more treachery bears fruit as former alliances are broken and old enemies rise again. Outgunned and overmatched, Abraham Jenkins must use his wits and sword to bring the enemy down.

Outside of the riverfront Drake Energy plant, Smoke and Sidney prepare themselves for the final showdown with Kane. It's all or nothing as they find themselves inside a hive full of countless shifting enemies, some new and some old, in a modern-day labyrinth full of surprises.

Marriage. While Sid mulls over Smokes proposition to be her husband, he sets out to do the right thing on his own and engages in a lengthy visit with Sid's parents, Sally and Keith. He departs only to find himself in the center of a man hunt. He is chased down by another group of strange goggle-wearing thugs that he has never encountered before.

Bounty hunter John Smoke has been at a loss ever since Sidney Shaw's abrupt departure. After weeks of finding no trace of her, Smoke has an unanticipated encounter with Reginald, the doppelganger. Smoke discovers that if he wants to see Sid again, he needs to perform a mission: hunt down and take out a rival criminal underworld called the Many. He finds out that he has been played, but he has no choice but to go along with it if he wants to see Sidney again.

Grey Cloak and Talon face off against Black Frost’s forces, which are imbued with godlike powers and will settle for nothing less than the heroes' deaths. Dyphestive and Zanna Paydark are charged with the dangerous undertaking of rescuing Queen Rhonna—who holds the key to defeating the enemy—from an impenetrable prison in Dwarf Skull.

With their backs against the wall, Grey Cloak, Dyphestive, and Streak take on an improbable mission through the Time Mural to recover an artifact of mass destruction that’s been hidden for centuries. Meanwhile, in Arrowwood, Bowbreaker finds himself in the fight of his life to liberate his elven people.

Grey Cloak and Dyphestive find themselves in a race against time. They must save Zora and Tanlin from their captors and find a magic artifact with other-worldly powers. But unbeknownst to them, Black Frost’s minions pick up on their trail, and a new hunt for the Blood Brothers begins while an unknown army that cannot be killed rises against them.

Congressman Wilhelm is shot, and video evidence reveals John Smoke as the shooter. The manhunt for Smoke begins, and Sid's life is turned upside down trying to exonerate the man she thinks she loves.
