Doch tatsächlich hat das dünne, kleine Schneiderlein nur sieben Fliegen ins Jenseits geschickt. Damit kann man den Bürgermeister nicht beeindrucken. Schon gar nicht nachdem das Tischlein Deck Dich seines Bruders sich als gewöhnlicher Holztisch entpuppt hatte. Doch Yoyo und Doc Croc riechen Lunte: das Wirtsehepaar, bei dem sie mit den drei Brüdern abgestiegen sind, kam ihnen gleich so verdächtig vor. Vielleicht wurden die Sachen heimlich vertauscht? Dann gibt es aber nur eins: Knüppel aus dem Sack.

Der Diener Heinrich ist untröstlich: Sein junger, gutaussehender Herr, Prinz Eduard, wurde von einer bösen Zauberin in einen glibberigen, hässlichen Frosch verwandelt. Einzig die Liebe einer Prinzessin kann ihn von diesem Fluch erlösen und vor dem gierig klappernden Schnabel der Zauberin bewahren, die sich schadenfroh in einen Storch verwandelt hat und nun dem Prinzen Angst einjagt. Yoyo und Doc Croc müssen ihre ganze Überzeugungskraft aufbringen, denn mit seiner Schönheit ist auch des Prinzen Selbstbewusstsein dahin.

Ganz schön wählerisch ist diese Prinzessin Konstanze. Zahllose Edelmänner haben schon um ihre Hand angehalten, aber kein Einziger passt ihr in den Kram. Nicht einmal der sympathische König Drosselbart ist ihr gut genug, doch das soll sie nur zu bald bereuen. Denn nun hat ihr Vater, der König, genug und verheiratet sie mit einem bettelarmen Spielmann. Yoyo und Doc Croc werden Zeugen einer wundersamen Wandlung: Gezwungen zu schwerer und sogar gefährlicher Arbeit lernt Konstanze das wahre Leben kennen.

Stroh zu Gold spinnen? Da hat sich der Müller aber etwas Feines ausgedacht, um seine Tochter vor dem grausamen Steuervogt des Königs zu schützen. Doc Croc wälzt seine Alchemie-Bücher, aber selbst er ist hier mit seinem Latein am Ende. Ist es also ein Glück oder ein Unglück, als dieser schrullige kleine Wicht wie aus dem Nichts auftaucht, sich ans Spinnrad setzt und Gold nach Herzenslust produziert? So eine Ungerechtigkeit! Yoyo und Doc Croc können es gar nicht fassen, was sich diese gemeine Stiefmutter mit ihren beiden herzlosen Töchtern gegenüber dem armen Aschenputtel herausnimmt, wenn deren Vater auf Reisen ist. In der Asche muss sie schlafen, die ganze Hausarbeit allein erledigen und nun darf sie nicht einmal mit auf den Ball des Prinzen! Dabei tanzt sie doch so gerne… Zum Glück gibt es da noch die geheimnisvolle weiße Taube auf dem Mandelbäumchen am Grab von Aschenputtels Mutter. Sie weiß immer Rat.
