A patchwork doll comes to life, and Dorothy, the Tin Woodman, and a host of new characters have enchanting adventures in the Land of Oz.

The classic children's tale The Wonderful Wizard of Oz written by L. Frank Baum follows the adventures of young Dorothy, who lives in Kansas with her Uncle Henry and Aunt Em. As many fans know from the beloved film adaptation of the book, a terrible swirling cyclone sweeps through the prairie area where Dorothy and her family are living, and in an attempt to get to safety, Dorothy's dog Toto buries himself under a bed. The house is picked up by the extreme winds, and when Dorothy awakens after the event, she is no longer in the town she calls home.

Despite Dorothy's many tales of her adventures in Oz, Aunt Em and Uncle Henry never quite believe her stories. Upon finding out the tornado that destroyed their farmhouse in book 1 (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz) is the cause of her Uncle Henry's horrible debt, Dorothy is determined to help her family. She makes plans with Ozma to bring her aunt and uncle to Oz where they may live happily ever after. Unbeknownst to Ozma and our friends in Oz, the Nome King is plotting to take over the Land of Oz and retrieve his magic belt that Dorothy took from him in book 3, Ozma of Oz.

The Emerald City of Oz is the sixth book in L. Frank Baum's Oz series. Originally published on July 20, 1910, it is the story of Dorothy Gale and her Uncle Henry and Aunt Em coming to live in Oz permanently. While they are toured through the Quadling Country, the Nome King is assembling allies for an invasion of Oz. This is the first time in the Oz series that Baum made use of double plots for one of the books.

Originally written in 1905 as a non-Oz adventure, it was eventually published in 1916 as Rinkitink in Oz, with an Oz ending tacked on for sales purposes. Thanks to a contest sponsored by the International Wizard of Oz Club, Rinkitink now has a new ending written by Andrew J. Heller that is true to Baum's original concept.

Tip, a young Gillikin boy, runs away from his cruel guardian, the wicked witch Mombi. He meets up with the Scarecrow, now ruler of the Emerald City; the Tin Woodman; many new friends; and an army of girls who want to overthrow the Scarecrow. While guiding a lost traveler, Dorothy herself gets lost, and finds herself on an enchanted road headed yet again to Oz. She meets many new friends and dangers along the way, but can she get to the Emerald City in time for Ozma's birthday party?

Dorothy Gale and her Uncle Henry and Aunt Em are coming to live in Oz permanently. Dorothy then takes them on a tour of Oz, and during their journey, they encounter King Kleaver with his Spoon Brigade and Miss Cuttenclip of the land of paper dolls. Meanwhile, the wicked Nome King has joined forces with the horrible Growleywogs, the terrifying Whimsies, and the wicked Phanfasms in a plot to capture the Emerald City.

Woot the Wanderer finds himself at the home of the Tin Woodman of Oz and desires to hear the story of how a woodman made of tin could come to be. The Tin Woodman tells the tale of how he was once Nick Chopper, a man of flesh and blood, in love with a young girl named Nimmie Amee. The Wicked Witch of the East was not happy about this and so she enchanted his axe and had him cut off his limbs one at a time, which were replaced with limbs made of tin.

An imaginative work first published in 1902, L. Frank Baum’s The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus tells the story of Claus, an orphaned boy raised by various immortal creatures in an enchanted forest. When he reaches adulthood, Claus is told to live among mortals; he is disheartened initially by poverty, war, and other negative aspects of humanity. He becomes well-known for his kindness to children, and this enthusiasm leads to the invention of the first toys.

One of the best-loved children’s stories of all time, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz describes the adventures of young Dorothy, who is swept away from her Kansas farm in a cyclone, and lands in the strange country of Oz. This audiobook is ideal for young listeners (ages 5 to 12) to discover for themselves that a book can contain so much more adventure than a movie. Although the 1939 movie starring Judy Garland was immensely popular, it left out many parts of this story.
