Depression & Other Magic Tricks is the debut book by Sabrina Benaim, one of the most-viewed performance poets of all time, whose poem "Explaining My Depression to My Mother" has become a cultural phenomenon with over 50,000,000 views.

Depression & Other Magic Tricks explores themes of mental health, love, and family. It is a documentation of struggle and triumph, a celebration of daily life and of living.

Andrea Gibson, author of Pansy, writes, "I read this book on a day I couldn't get out of bed and it made me feel like I had a friend in the world.... Simply put, this book disappears loneliness."

Love this woman's beautiful poetry! So so very good! I've always loved poetry but the way she puts it and performs hers is amazing!

Not delivered with quite as much passion as on button entry, but ridiculously talented none the less!

Great listen

I absolutely love the raw honesty and the boldness of authenticity no matter how harsh or humorous it is to embrace self reflection and the courage it takes to share it so we all feel less alone

She nails it

I loved it. Sometimes it is not easy living life while feeling this way but it is comforting knowing you are not the only one who goes through this struggles and feel these deep emotions.

i really enjoyed Sabrina! I haven't listened or read to any kind of poetry in a while and this was an excellent welcome back. I felt understood e been through her metaphors in love and depression. I recommend reading this, especially if you want a glimpse into the stream of consciousness of a young person with depression.

Excellent Poetry
