Okay, I ended up enjoying this waaaay more than I had anticipated. At first, it was the stellar dual style narration that was doing the heavy lifting but eventually, the story got me invested in these two. I think this is a prime example of a book hitting at JUST the right time for me to get the most out of it. Adriana Anders is a new-to-me author and although there were some aspects of the story the felt like they were glossed over rather that truly unpacking it (eg. the trouble with her ex and the thing with her brother), I suppose by the end, I had a good enough time that I was glad I picked this audiobook up. Good times were had.

I like the story and I like the MMC. I love Sean Masters as a narrator. But I have to say the FMC in this book is really annoying. So much so that I almost couldn’t finish reading it.

I actually had to DNF just over halfway through. Wanted to finish bc I love Sean Masters and the MMC was great. But this FMC was intolerable.
