This was a great intro to the series! I really liked the two MCs. They met through their parents dating and eventually became step siblings. Their parents are high profile and they have an image to uphold. For four years they tried to keep their distance. She is a musician with dreams of Juilliard and he is the bad boy who makes his money playing poker. She is his Queen of Hearts. ♥️

taboo tension and step-sibling angst

I love me a good taboo romance, and My Favorite Girl is no exception. It starts off soft at first, all shy glances and bottled-up feelings, and then suddenly you’re knee-deep in tension. Ally and Dan’s step-sibling dynamic is the definition of “we really shouldn’t… but oh, we absolutely will,” and I ate it up.

Ally, with her sweet, sheltered vibe, pairs beautifully with Dan’s rough-around-the-edges charm. Watching him become quietly obsessed with the girl he’s supposed to keep at arm’s length? Delicious torture. Then that ending, Skyla Summers, you are pure chaos for leaving us like that.

Heather Firth has the perfect voice for Ally with that tender, breathy vulnerability that she carries. And Anthony Palmini? The protectiveness, the frustration, the hunger...he nails every shade of it. They make a great narrating duo, and I'm excited to listen to more in book 2.

If you crave taboo tension, step-sibling angst, and a hero who falls hard and fast, this novella will scratch every itch. It’s more of a character introduction than a full-blown romance, but the chemistry and build-up are not to be missed. I can’t wait to see how this twisted, addictive connection explodes in the next audiobook.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this taboo, spicy, romance! 😮‍💨 Sweet, innocent Ally meets bad-boy Dan. Their forbidden, soon-to-be–step-sibling romance had the perfect slow burn, full of yearning, tension, and just enough spice to tease. Then that cliffhanger hit, leaving me desperate for more! I cannot wait for the next audiobook and the full-burning spice it’s clearly building toward! 🔥🔥🔥😮‍💨
-The duet narration was top tier by two of my favorite narrators. Heather Firth as Ally and Anthony Palmini as Dan. They both did a phenomenal job as always! I’m hoping they are narrating the next audiobook in this series as well!

This was a beautiful story that actually showed the fallout of step siblings being romantically involved, as hard as they tried to fight it over the years, and how it can affect the whole family.

Also, one of the few taboo step siblings romance that doesn’t have the revenge/bully trope. Quite actually the opposite. Dan becomes the protector, the best friend, her number one fan, despite his rebellious rich playboy nature at age 15.

Narration was top notch in Duet style.

I need the audio for My Favorite Sin as soon as possible after listening to My Favorite Girl. The cliffhanger I was left with after binging this in one sitting has me chomping at the bit for more! There are a few very yummy spicy scenes, but it was the angst and taboo desire that got me.

Heather and Anthony were amazing choices for these characters. Anthony has been a narrator in quite a few popular audiobooks, including Brimstone and Grim, but I haven’t had the chance to listen to his work until now. I have listened to Heather before, with Little Liar, so I already knew I would enjoy her part. I’m excited to seek them out more in the future!
