Disappointing

I was really hyped up by booktok to read this and parts of it were good. My main issue was the FMC. I understood her horror of vampires and often related but as a drawn out conflict point it got tired and overused.

Suspenseful story and my new favorite narrator.

Wow, nice performance. I liked the fella more than the female, but she is set up to mature. So glad I purchased this story.

ungrateful

I've never heard of heroine being so ungrateful as this one. That's not a compliment. She was betrayed by her own people. At least the new people, hasn't betrayed. But no she so ungrateful. King deserves better. She's not righteous. She's vindictive.

Love the characters

Unique world building and magic system. I love the characters personalities and development throughout the story. Can’t wait for book 2!

The best pacing

I always needed to know what was going to happen next ASAP. They also covered a lot of tropes like needing to get into an old tumb to find a magic book and him hiding his title but they don't take the whole book to get to the answer you already know is coming. This was great. I'll be listening to this again and again.
