Possession of dragon contraband in the Arterian kingdom is a guaranteed brutal execution.

When twenty-two-year-old Katerina Blackwind finds a dragon egg buried in her father’s grave, she begins to question everything she thought she knew. She must return the forbidden dragon hatchling—Daeja—north to the secretive Dragon Lands: where dragons roam free and a rebellion group resides.

But she can’t do it on her own – smuggling a dragon hatchling across the realm during a war between Arterians and rebels means she can be killed by either side. She knows there’s only one person she can truly trust, her old flame, Cole Ashbourne.

Yet, Cole is much different than the last time Kat saw him: deliciously chiseled in all the right places with a raw power lingering beneath the surface. Cole is torn between his responsibilities as a newly-promoted Captain in the King’s military, and his heart.

Kat works on a plan to get Daeja to the Dragon Lands while keeping a low profile at the military outpost. Though, having a room next to the sinisterly provocative Darian Raventhorn proves to be anything but easy.

Danger lurks at every turn, and as more secrets are unearthed, Kat is left to question everything she thought she knew about dragons, her family, love, and the kingdom.

I finished the book in one day. I liked the banter between Katerina and Daeja. I did guess some of the twist, but still loved it.

Loved

This is so good and so fun! Dragons, a cheery MC, a dark MMC and a MFC who will do whatever she can to protect the dragon!

So good!!

Well I did not dislike the FMC. Woohoo. Lol I did not do any research on this book. I seen it in a FB group. Duet narration group. Sometimes I see the main tropes and go from there. Sadly I did Not see love triangle. I don't like those that may just be me. I don't like why choose or RH. Love triangle is hard for me to read because ya know you like both of them for different reasons lol. So I stay away from them. But with that said I must say I Really enjoyed the book. I enjoyed their voices. And they splash in a bit of sound effects it's not a lot just a little surprise 2 or 3 times which grabs your attention. The narration was really good. And even with my not being a fan of triangles etc I find myself really wanting to read/listen to the second book. Unfortunately I may just read some of the beginning because I really want the next audio to go with it. Who likes to stop reading when you can continue doing chores etc and listen. I hope there is more from the dragon in next book. She needs some page time. Did I mention I want the next audio. hope it's not years from now.

love a good duet

I kinda wanna shake the Kat but I get that we don’t alway meet the right man first. I want to shake her to see the difference! I can’t wait for book two! I want more Darian in the next book! I love her relationship with Archie 💕 these narrators did an amazing job and you could tell the difference with Kat and Daeja.

Team Darian!

This was amazing! The story and the narrators. I loved the added sound effects and the distancing of the voices to make the inner thoughts distinct from the verbal speaking.

Great Duet! Full cast.
