Returning to Arizona, Holton Lang is once again riding the path of a solitary existence. Or is he…? Fighting a nest of squatters on the ranch, and reconnecting with Bear and a welcomed visitor, he is tempted to put down his roots for good. With the unexpected appearance of his Indian-sniffing dog, Holton is once again pulled to the trail of adventure, hoping to come to the aid of his young friend, Jules, and a band of Texas Rangers, before it is too late....

The adventure continues from West to Bravo and Seven Fingers a’ Brazos.

This audio book accompanied me across west Texas and New Mexico and I couldn't have chosen a better companion. It fed my "born a hundred years too late" soul.

The imagery and distinct sensory fulfillment it offered did get my mind caught up in imagination as I made my way westward with the characters within this book.

I stumbled on this book after looking for an audio book to make the drive to NM. I had listened to West to Bravo, another by E. Heisner (which at the time a few years ago I wasn't aware was going to be a series) and thuroughly enjoyed it. I needed another western, and so went back to Audible to look for something by the same author. This is now part of the series so I had to download it right away. The gift of irony led me through Llano, Texas (of the same name as the river referenced in this book title) so my imagination was filled with vivid imagery from the book and its characters, while driving through some of the same terrain in real life.

I'll be enjoying one of his other books in the coming months for certain,

A treat to listen to
