APOCALYPSE GREG—(Light Novel Vol 4, 5)

"No walls can contain my hatred for group projects."

When our reluctant hero Greg Michaels discovers a mysterious black-clad figure capable of slaughtering entire settlements, he realizes even the apocalypse has corporate middle management. Tracking this "Cleanser" through the scorching Arizona desert, Greg discovers non-System survivors hiding in the Phoenix Zoo and ancient cliff dwellings, desperately trying to survive both zombies and these invincible assassins.

But the trail leads to something even more disturbing, Las Vegas, completely walled off from the world, where androids hunt both zombies and humans. As he infiltrates the Strip, Greg uncovers the dark secret beneath the Black Tower, a portal to the zombie realm itself.

With nothing but his trusty sword and a talking android head, Greg does what any reasonable introvert would do: jumps straight into hell to fight the source of the apocalypse. Because at Level 99, he's done carrying this team project called humanity.

The only thing worse than an office party?

A three-phase boss fight against the Lord of the Depths for the fate of the world.

At least there's no small talk.

I was as entertained by this book as much as the first one in the series. I followed Greg as he moved from one fight to the next. I felt for Greg as he faced all the obstacles and creatures which hindered his path on the way to achieving his goal. My attention was riveted to the story by the almost non-stop action. I was amused by the humorous incidents and dialogue. Christopher Harbour's narrative skills were impressive, and his performance added to my enjoyment of the story. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

No Rest For Greg

Apocalypse Greg, Vol 4, 5: Light Novel (I Was Just Trying to Avoid People, but Now I'm the Strongest Zombie Slayer, Book 2), my twenty-first read from prolific author Wolfe Locke (with Andrew O'Kelley ) who writes under so many nom-de-plumes that I'm not sure that 21 is correct. A captivating, page-turning (10-hour 13-minute/545-page, well-written read. “I received a complementary Audible copy of this book and now I'm voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I always look forward to the next work from him. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

A Five star read from one of my favorite authors.
