This title uses virtual voice narration

Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.

In the 1970s, the world changed forever. Without warning, colossal towers of black stone erupted from the earth, and with them came the Aserathi—an alien people who looked like humans but were faster, stronger, and infinitely more dangerous.

They were led by the Seven Sisters, beings of unimaginable power worshipped as living gods. Behind them stood their Archons and Scions, lieutenants who enforced their dominion. Humanity’s armies shattered. Governments crumbled. Within months, Earth was theirs.

By 2025, humanity exists only on sufferance—labourers, servants, rebels clinging to shadows. Resistance still sparks, but always at a cost.

Cael is no hero. Just another man trying to survive in the ruins of southern England, running jobs for scraps, looking after those who can’t fend for themselves. But when he crosses paths with an Aserathi, his life veers violently off course.

Soon Cael finds himself hunted, entangled in secrets older than the Aserathi’s arrival, and changing in ways that could either save humanity… or doom it forever.

In a world ruled by gods in human form, what chance does one man have?

Warning!!! Contains graphic description of violence and harem type relationships.

it was still pretty good to listen to, because it was a good story. However, the virtual voice is not something I enjoyed. I got this through Audible membership, but if this were to be done by a voice actor, or actors, I would buy this.

Great story!

I liked this story very much. the AI narrator wasn't bad as the system has improved a lot. the mispronounced words are not jarring at all, kind of a little whimsy. the MC was not developed as much as I would have liked but this is a fairly short read so time was not an option. ending was clean and does not in my opinion need another installment to bring closure

very good story

A great story, vivid and immersive, despite a virtual narrator. Eager for the next release.

Great characters, fun adventure

This story is epic. The amount of humor and personality in this was amazing. I cannot wait to dive into the sequel.
