Betrayed. Murdered. Reborn. One last chance, to make it right. Theo's adventure ended with his mentor's hands around his neck. The betrayal cost him his friends, allies and everything he had built... but not his life. Though broken and powerless, Theo has one last chance to enter the Nine Worlds, wielding the knowledge and expertise of his first life. This time, he needs more than just power, he needs to unravel the deception that killed him once... and is coming for him again.

Theo is getting closer to ascending to Authority, but the consequences of his actions are nipping at his heels. Old rivalries return, other continents are threatening war, and the House of the Lost is working for mysterious purposes. Worst of all, the Asplundat Movement is finally marching to war. They've begun production of bloodcrete, their most dangerous sublime material, and no one is sure of the consequences...

Another excellent book in the weirkey series and a stellar performance by Travis Baldree as always.

Great installments in the series!

It's been a long wait for a follow-up audiobook. While that in and of itself isn't factored into my rating, it does and should be considered for overall progress in this volume.

in general, this book is on the shorter side and the plot doesn't move substantially. If not for a substantial infodump in the last 1/5 of the book, I would almost call this a side story, such is the lack of progress. This book does have a self contained plot, but I found the stakes lower than I would like as the characters are all focused on plots and stories that we know are more temporary.

With that said, the lore, characters, and depth of soul crafting are as prevalent as ever so the book is still worth a listen. Travis does fantastic as always and brings great life to the characters.

Bloodcrete is a great continuation of the series. This one wraps up some ongoing elements of the story, introduces new ones, brings back characters from previous books, has a very long and complicated battle, and has lots of satisfying soulcrafting. While we are given some answers, as usual the answers only bring up more questions. This one wraps up well and sets up the next book and the next great adventure. I have to admit I’m not a fan of big battles, but for those who are, the one in this book was well done.

Travis Baldree does his usual great job on this book. I fell in love with his narrative style in another series and went looking for more. I found the Weirkey Chronicles and have been grateful ever since to find a truly enjoyable series voiced by a truly outstanding narrator. Wakespire is the next book in the series and I can hardly wait for its audiobook version… yes, that’s both a hint and a plea Mr. Baldree! 😉

Another great story
