For Howie, the lonely barista, he longed for the dream life. Husband, house with a white picket fence, 2.5 kids and a dog. Sadly, all he could get were meaningless one night stands leaving him feeling empty.

Jackson Milsap, the introverted writer, quietly pined for Howie from the corner of the café. Stepping outside of his comfort zone and asking him out on a date sent his social anxiety into overdrive. That was until the day he came to Howies rescue, forever changing both their lives.

This story was part of the Between The Covers limited edition anthology.

This was an ok listen for a short story and a sweet romance overall. Howie, a barista tired of meaningless hookups, wants a deeper kind of love, while Jackson, an introverted writer, has been quietly crushing on him for a while. When Jackson finally steps out of his comfort zone and comes to Howie’s rescue, it sets their connection in motion. Overall, a pleasant story with a nice relationship build.

Coffee, Tea or Me? Was a sweet and entertaining romance between two characters who each come with their own set of hang ups. I thought they were both very likeable, and was happy to see them get their HEA.
I was a little disappointed in the narrator, and it bothered me to hear him mispronounce a few words. Overall though, this was an enjoyable listen.

This audio book was a sweet and very quick listen that left me wanting more - more coffee, more time, and more of this couple to fully tell their love story.

Insecure barista Howie and shy writer Jackson are adorable together and make a super sweet couple, and I would've eaten up a deeper dive into their romance, backstories, and simply more pages to build up their feelings, relationship, and HEA payoff. I thought Howie's insecurities in particular, stemming from a string of one-and-done hook-ups, deserved more attention. All told, this felt like a cute, abbreviated version of what could've been a well-rounded hurt/comfort love story.

This was my first time hearing narrator Charles Armstrong, and I enjoyed his performance. He's got a voice that makes for easy listening, and he gave the MCs enough personality to keep me entertained. I received a free review copy of this audio book and have left this honest review voluntarily.

Howie the rambly barista and Jackson the socially awkward writer. They’ve been pining after each other from afar for months, but when a rude customer makes nasty comments to Howie, Jackson stands up for him and gathers the courage to ask him out.
The short story is super sweet and quite adorable, low in angst and the perfect bite size for an enjoyable hour-long escape.

Deliciously cute short story!
