Above all, it is the story of a youth who, against the odds, becomes a man, and more becomes a master gunner in his own right.

This is the first part of a series that will culminate in the heights of the Andes where the power of the Spanish comes up against the Incas in their mountain eyries.

great story

Very good narration and the story is endaging I cant wait to read book 2.

The reader was excellent.

The reader was excellent. Being Hispanic and obviously a Spanish speaker, his accents and pronunciations were authentic. On the whole I had no problem identifying the characters. The story seemed well researched and the fictional characters believable

very enjoyable

I will say do not expect the most unique experience in this book. but it is a very good and enjoyable historical fictional adventure story on a interesting period that has a interesting perspective.

also the voice acting is excellent in this book and very much a highlight of the book!

Justifying genocide and rape is wrong

This is a story of genocide, rape and conquest. I love the authors prior works but he needs to reflect more on human beings and behavior
