He won the battle. Now he's the target.

Robert Williams saved Ironheart Keep with a spell that shook the world. Now, the consequences of that power are coming for him. The Narifirn Empire wants revenge, and they're sending assassins not for the Queen, but for the Oakhaven enchanter who annihilated their army.

To defend his friends and the life he's built, Robert must embark on a furious grind for power. He’ll take on legendary dungeons alone, unlock a new profession, and build an army of golem defenders. Because when ancient dragons and furious emperors have you in their sights, being overpowered is the only way to survive.

This book was a great progression of both leveling and life building. As later in the books all the dungeon runs and fights wear kinda skipped somewhat instead of blow by blow which can get kinda of tedious in some books.

Great world building!

This was a good book and an excellent continuation of the series though this series needs some serious proofreading. There was a few small errors and contradictions. I will not go into any detail, but I’m sure others have noticed.

Good continuation!

So for those of you who like apocalypse books like that involves the system coming this is actually a really good book I didn’t expect to get hooked onto it and here we are waiting for book4 it captures a suspense seriousness but also funniness and unpredictability.

It’s a really good book unfortunately we have to wait for book 4

One suggestion for the author right up front: the book opens with roughly twenty minutes of full stat updates. After some time away from the series, I found it difficult to remember all the details from the previous books, and starting with such a long stat dump was a bit rough. I would have much preferred a short recap of the earlier story to help ease back into the world.

Once the story actually gets going, though, the book is fantastic.

I really enjoyed the intrigue and political maneuvering throughout the story. What I especially appreciated was how the main character largely avoids getting tangled in those machinations unless he absolutely has to. When he does get pulled into conflict, he handles himself extremely well.

The main character continues to be very likeable and capable. One element I particularly appreciated is that he remains willing to move forward for the sake of his own growth, even when that means leaving people behind. Too many progression stories end up trapping the main character in one place, or worse, forcing the author to make the character behave badly just to justify moving on. This book strikes a much healthier balance. The main character acknowledges the costs, prepares properly, and says his goodbyes in a way that feels thoughtful and well written.

I also loved how the progression never really stops. The main character keeps pushing forward while still helping others along the way. One of my favorite aspects of the story is that he genuinely cares about people and is willing to sacrifice for them. Sometimes helping others slows him down a little, but he never loses his momentum. He simply gets back on track and keeps moving forward.

Overall, this book was a lot of fun. There are many strong elements working together here, and the story kept me engaged throughout. I’m very much looking forward to the next installment.

Hannah Trusty and Brad Derry also did an excellent job with the narration and helped bring the story to life.
