The story here was never fantastic in the series but like this one is at a weird level of a drop in quality.

the main character is just sort of meandering now. not really doing anything fantastic but somehow blazing to the point in a way that a drunk goes to bed. which is to say chaotically, and while leaving food in the microwave and vomit on the ground we made it to where we were going but I'm not looking forward to tomorrow morning

without issuing any spoilers in case someone's interested, it does get to the point but it's sort of breaks. it's established rules and the process which makes it kind of weird.
