They say you can never tame a wildflower...

From the superstar romance author of the Boston Bolts hockey series comes a spicy rivals-to-lovers, grumpy-sunshine romance about a young woman returning to her family’s daffodil farm only to find “Cowboy” running her daddy’s business. . . . This gorgeous first edition trade paperback features colored stenciled edges.

When aspiring pastry chef, Tally Darling, returns home to her family’s daffodil farm, the last thing she expects to find is a hot—half-naked—farmhand living in her childhood bedroom and running her late daddy’s business.

Jesse Walker might be gorgeous but he’s also infuriatingly grumpy. Walker has no time for Tally and the feeling is mutual.

That is, until Tally hears him moan over one of her signature salted honey cupcakes. And then discovers how good it tastes when they kiss.

As dewy April days turn into warm May evenings, Walker and Tally soon realize that there is a thin line between love and hate. But will their budding connection grow into something that lasts beyond one season?

“Full to the brim with yearning and heat, Darling Daffodils Farm is springtime romantic magic at its best. Take me to Hope Harbor!” —Annabel Monaghan, New York Times bestselling author of Nora Goes Off Script

“Oh, honey, this book! It’s got grumpy meets sunshine, cupcakes that should come with a warning label, and a farmhand so swoon-worthy you’ll be googling ‘how to inherit a daffodil farm.’ Tally and Jesse’s slow-burn, small-town sparks are pure joy—equal parts sweet, steamy, and laugh-out-loud delightful. Highly recommend!" —Jenn McKinlay, New York Times bestselling author of Love at First Book

this was a pretty good story. it was in a duet hybrid narration. that means, Savannah did Tally's voice always but then every character in her chapters. then Liam would always do Walkers voice but then would narrates every character during his chapters. im not a huge fan of this. I appreciate them narrating in duet for the main characters but I wish it was full duet. this could have worked if they had a different female narrator. maybe Samantha Brentmoor or Victoria Connolly. they do really good male voices. Savannah Peachwoods male voices are so cringe its hard to listen to. Liam is a new narrator to me. he was great. i am a new fan now. I will be looking for more books with him. his female voices aren't horrible. not a lot of differentiation but still pretty good.

now for the story. this is a dislike to love story. there is a lot of miscommunication, intentional secrets and it seems intentional stupidity. Tally is really annoying. she makes obviously bad choices. she takes common sense and says nah. now there is an age gap too. if im doing my math right. there is a 12 year age gap. Tally is 26, the same age as Billy, Walkers younger sister that he raised since he was 18 and she was 6. that would make Walker 38. Tally's dad just died and Walker worked for him on this flower farm. he wants his sister and nephew to live on the farm with him. Tally's mom still lives on the farm and she works with Walker to try and keep the farm. Tally's mom also makes obviously bad choices. its clearly genetic. it sounds like her dad did too though. Her older sister Penny seems to be the smarter one in the family. Tally comes home to try and help on the farm but she doesn't. she seems to accidentally sabotage the farm and Walker while thinking Walker is trying to screw over her family. eventually they work through some issues and fall in love. the spicy scenes are amazing. this author can write smex. my goodness. that does not disappoint. Liam is 10/10 on the dirty talk and growly voice. I was into it. there were funny moments that made me laugh out loud.

there are call backs to past characters from other books such as Daniel Hall. I like that this is a connected universe.

over all this was a decent story. it would have been 5 stars if Tally specifically wasn't so unnecessarily frustrating and they had a better female narrator. when she does just female characters she is great. just not male characters. there is no 3rd act breakup. so that is also nice. the HEA was satisfying and the set up for the next book was subtle and natural. this is a great author. im excited for the next book.

I feel in love with Tally, Walker and the whole town of Hope Harbor. I have loved everything I've read from Brittanee Nicole and this was no different. Such a fun small town romance, where Brittanee brings her hilarious banter and heartwarming characters. The way Tally and Walker fall in love, even as they try to keep things casual, was so beautiful. They support each other perfectly and honestly bring out the best in the other. And Brittanee does not skimp on the spice! Walker surprised me many times with the spice level.

This is narrated in a hybrid duet style which was new to me. It means the narrators read all of their character's dialogue but don't necessarily read the other characters of the same sex. As someone who doesn't mind dual or duet, it didn't bother me one bit. Savannah Peachwood is a favorite narrator of mine, and she was wonderful as Tally. She really brought out the snarky humor for this role but also hit the vulnerable and sad parts beautifully. Liam Cortright is a new narrator for me and I really enjoyed him as Walker. He has a rich, low tone which came through great as the grumpy, serious farmer.

Highly recommend reading/listening!

I enjoyed this one. It had all the elements that I look for. Some spicy, some serious not over the top.
I absolutely love Brittnee Nicole so never thought I wouldn't like it. I honestly think the narration. on this one didnt do it justice. I hate being negative on a review, my opinion of yuck may be some one else's yum.
I need to come back to this later and re-listen.

I am convinced Brittanee Nicole cannot write a bad story. I have been obsessed since my first read of hers (Mother Faker) and of course I have read and own all her books in some format. Sometimes even multiple (who doesn’t need book trophies?!) This story had all the key elements but was different than all the others (no hockey, and no billionaires) but 100% fantastic! Swoony MMC ✔️, sassy FMC ✔️and of course something else Britt does that we can’t live without…to die for GROUP TEXTS!!!! Y’all this book was absolutely everything I expected it to be AND MORE!!! If Brittany writes it I will buy it, audio, digital AND physical!!! Now can we talk about those amazing narrators?!? Savannah Peachwood was brilliant as sassy Tally Darling, and Liam Cortright brought grumpy, sexy Jesse Walker to life perfectly! 100/100 RECOMMEND!!! Can’t wait for the next one in the series!!

Once again, pure perfection!
