An Excellent Outlaw Story!!

I loved all the twists and turns in this story of outlaws, sickness, court intrigue, and rebellions!

Excellent narration and nail-biting action make this a must listen!

Ik im soooooo late to this book but omg? It was so good? I liked this book so much I tabbed it.

“Please don’t ask.
Please don’t hate me”

I wanted to cry. This book was so well done from start to finish. Tessa the main character was soft but strong. She had such a caring heart for the people. The way I fell in love with corricks character was so unexpected. I felt so bad for him and everything he had to do. I’m sooo glad I read this book.

Love the story

I wanted to take a break from the typical magical universe of many YA books. (Although, I do love those) This story resonates with modern day needs to even power among the elites of this world with the poor that have to go without. As in real life, it feels as though the divide becomes more evident no matter how hard you try to better your situation.

This story does have a romantic component, but it’s not front and center. It’s not a “damsel in distress”. Tessa is intelligent and quick on her feet. I love her power and bravery! I love the lack of raunchy romance.

The only think I didn’t love was the male narrators voice. This “southern accent” felt mocking. The other voices he had tempted to portray were irritating to the point that I had to stop listening several time. Although I will read the other two books in this series. I won’t listen to them because his voice is so offputting.

Writing style

I didn’t want to stop listening I had to keep going to know what happened. You become enthralled with the characters and you feel like you are right there with them.

Fantastic book

I loved this book. It's an easy read with a great story line and fantastic narrators. its not all encompassing world building and epic battles but its so worth it.. I don't leave a lot of all around 5 star reviews but I thoroughly enjoyed this.
