Facets of April

After the polar ice caps melt in the Thaw, the Corporations take control of the flooded zones and create virtual utopias over the great cities of the past that rest below the waves. April Yale is accepted into college, in the stilted mega-city of Greater York, to study programming and robotics for the Frame, the massive worldwide information net which hosts countless Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality locations. On her first day of class, her father vanishes and corporate agents and military come asking questions about him and his location, claiming he has stolen top secret experimental military technology. April's life changes forever as she and her college professor, Doctor Adya Konda, go in search of April's dad, both on the Frame and across the mega-metropolis. Truths are uncovered that may be too much for April to handle.

Well written sci-fi with a strong female cast

What an exciting and delightfully different story! I’m going straight into book two!

Starts out with a young adult lead with a tragic back story. Been there, done that. But very quickly we begin to see things aren’t all what they seem. What is revealed are some interesting side characters and answers that beget more questions. I’m eager to find out where the story goes next!

Mostly sci-fi adventure with a dash of slowwwww burn romance. Maybe that’s not fair. The entire timeline of the book is a couple days?

I went into the story blind, and in hindsight, I think that was a great way to do it.

Amazing technology descriptions and new ideas. Erik Schuback has such gifted writing, and this all creates a great book.

Action packed

This story moved from open to close! Allyson Voller brought April to life. Can't wait to jump into the next book.
