He lost everyone he loved, except for a secret baby.

Fitzwilliam Darcy will lie and break the law to keep his sister's newborn safe. When the only way to protect her is to have an heir of his own, his search for a trustworthy wife begins....

She was her father's favorite, until he sacrificed her happiness.

When Elizabeth Bennet's father falls gravely ill, she is willing to shoulder the responsibility of her family's care while maintaining her freedom—until she is forced to marry Mr. Darcy.

One broken man plus one bitter lady equals one happy family?

Through grief and betrayal, Darcy and Elizabeth learn to trust each other and work together to honor the promises they have made—including the vows they exchanged.

But a spiteful enemy from Darcy's past is determined to divide their family, and the law is on his side....

Fitzwilliam Darcy, Guardian is a sweet and clean romantic suspense variation of Jane Austen's timeless classic, Pride and Prejudice. It's the third book in the Dimensions of Darcy series of standalone novels.

Georgiana eloped with Wickham and was abandoned by him. She and Darcy found out she was pregnant and did not tell Wickham. Georgiana died in childbirth giving birth to baby girl Ann - this is not a spoiler because it is revealed in the very first of the book. To protect Ann, Darcy must get married and have a child to inherit the estate because Wickham could get Pemberly through baby Ann if Darcy died without heirs and Wickham found out that Ann existed. Darcy marries Elizabeth because she was recommended to him. She doesn't know about Ann, however she has a very good reason to get married which is the awful entail that benefits Rev. Collins to the detriment of Elizabeth's mother and sisters. . Then the story goes forward. I thought it was interesting, well written and well performed.

Wickham is bad, as usual

I bought this because of Stevie Zimmerman. She is wonderful but the book is not. Elizabeth is very irritating and self righteous for most of the book and Darcy doesn’t stand up for himself or be honest about his reasoning. I understand wanting to protect the baby but they had other options, other than wringing their hands, until Darcy could have his own heir. He could have entailed the property; he could have sent the baby somewhere else before Wickham found out he was a father until he had an heir; or, he could have Wickham thrown into debtors prison. A really irritating book.

Rather boring
