Filled with accessible strategies to help you heal from within through the foods you eat, FOOD THERAPY explores the vital connection between nutrition, stress, and trauma recovery.

Food is therapy—and the choices you make each day impact your capacity to heal from anxiety, stress, and even trauma. Somatic Educator Luis Mojica offers a groundbreaking approach to eating to support the nervous system, adrenals, and glucose balance. When you learn how nutrition impacts your emotions and your body, every food choice becomes an opportunity to shift your biochemistry and support your goals. This knowledge can be incorporated into both therapeutic and personal practices, revealing how to:

  • Learn which foods affect your fight-or-flight response.
  • Replace judgment and shame with curiosity to reveal the unmet needs behind your food cravings.
  • Avoid food-induced stress so your body can better handle life's ups and downs.
  • Eat both processed and whole foods in a balanced way.

Neither a cookbook nor a one-size-fits-all diet of dos and don’ts, this book is a guide to becoming a conscious alchemist, deeply in tune with your body, using food as a medicine.

The way Luis goes about explaining the biological relationship we have with food is so educational! His way of explaining is gentle and absolutely helps to remove the shame piece so many of us deal with around food. I appreciate that he invites the reader to somatically check in throughout the book to see where the learning is speaking to you in your body. Thank you Luis for sharing your learning with the world.

Luis has a smooth soulful voice that presents the information he has gathered over years of clinical practice in an easy to understand way. Food is our medicine and he lays out why and how with the science and real life experiences to back it up. It doesn’t matter what age, gender, demographic you are. This book is to help all human bodies heal and thrive. I have the paperback and audible and plan to gift more! Thanks Luis and team!

This book is “real talk” about food and beautifully illustrates how we are what we eat. The strategies are simple to implement and don’t feel controlling (which is very important to me). I started noticing differences in my face and felt calmer after only 2 weeks of only adding the recommended soluble fiber. My ADHD son slept and woke up SO much better after just one evening of the recommended snacks. I believe this book is going to be a lifesaver for my family.
Luis’s take on our relationship with food is absolute magic! Where has this book been all my life?! Love it!

Luis Mojica's work is as gentle, compassionate and soft as it is effective long term. Treating food and the body and the land as beings softens my resistance to change, because I doesn't feel like violent change, it feels like an invitation to step into the work at your own pace and to enter a state of becoming lead by the relationship we develop with food, with the body and the land.
I also loved Luis's narration and vulnerability💚 I felt seen, respected and validated.
