I listened to this book with my family it is sooooooo good. I am so glad we found this book!
can't wait for number two!!!)

Narration is odd

The story is very good and interesting, however the narration lacks emotion and nuance. Its very jarring to listen to at times.

An unlikely hero, his food hoarding dragon, and their adventures together

I'll admit, it took me a minute to get used to the narrator's voice, but I liked him overall, he did a great job! The story is fun and engaging, and I was immediately pulled in. I enjoyed listening to the evolution of an unwanted boy as he gained confidence and acceptance. Britt creates beautiful worlds and characters that are relatable, funny, and brave in their own ways. A food stealing dragon just added to the fun! This is a heartwarming coming of age story with plenty of humor and action, I can't wait for the next book in the series!

If characters and story were made of cutout paper dolls this would be it. Even the narrator had to push for enthusiasm to finish the book.
