Good storyline and overall a fantastic entry in this series that gets better and better! … looking forward to the next installation of Book #9! (this is the second time I’ve listened to the book … waiting for the outcome in the next book!)

Good Book and Series

The action in this book was not a disappointment. I enjoyed it very much. A great continuation of the Grimm War series. The narration was superb. The over all story was well done with very few weak points. I felt that the action was well paced, well written, and engaging. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it and the entire series to listeners.

How Does He Keep Doing It?!

It has been a while since I enjoyed an audiobook that I simply couldn't turn off. To find that little joy in the EIGHTH installment of a series should speak volumes about how well Haskell has honed his craft, shepherded his characters and respected his fictional universe's own lore. This is old school space war scif-fi: every bit as good (imho) as the Honor Harrington series. No big spoilers here: the war has dragged on for books now, but the characters find time and hope for their futures--to marry, to move up in careers and even schmooze with the Iron Empire royalty. But the odds are ever NOT in their favor it seems. Both Grimm and Nadia find themselves in, shall we say, special assignments in the wake of an assassination attempt. The build-up to the finale is masterfully done and I think you'll enjoy the execution at the last hour. Peter Berkrot, as always, delivers a marvelous performance. Bravo to both him and Haskell. This has been a great ride!
