Handcuffs and Hexes

Another fun story in this series. This book is about Seth (wizard and witch), Liam (demon) and Hazel (human?). Hazel -an officer of the police- gets hurt at a mysterious and potentially dangerous vortex. Having a serious concussion and other injuries, she has to be taken care off and not be alone. Seth and Liam are a couple, but they are both quit interested in adding Hazel aka officer Cooley into the mix. So of course they volunteer to take care of Hazel. Although they are all attracted to each other, things are not so simple. Add a dangerous growing vortex in the mix plus several other problems, like Seth’s father, a relationship seems out of the question.
Great story, I enjoyed it reading but I enjoyed listening to it even more. All three(!!!!) narrators did a great job!!

Semi-predictable but sweet!

A cute story that takes no guesses to see where it will go, but so sweet!

Ebook Review-

I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. This was a fun adventure with some mystery, suspense, and danger. I loved Seth, Liam, and Hazel. And I love even more that Seth and Liam were in a committed and established relationship from the start, rather than forming one after both wanting to be with Hazel. I admit Liam is my favorite character. I liked the dynamic between the three of them and the chemistry was scorching. I really liked the supporting characters as well. The humor made me laugh, like this interaction:

'He picked it up and frowned. Then he leveled an eye at me.
Oh shit. I knew that look.
“What the hell did you do?”
Damn, that manticore. Did he blab?
“I dipped my toe in,” I admitted.
“You what?!” Seth yelled.
Oh boy.
“I got it back.”
“But what if you didn’t?”
“It’ll grow back.”
“What if something pulled you in?”
“Nothing pulled me in.”
“And what if the hole grew just as you touched it and swallowed you whole?”
“It didn’t. I’m fine.”
We had a short stare-off, and at the end, he pulled me over and kissed my forehead. “Don’t do stupid shit.”

I could just see Hazel sitting there grinning and munching on popcorn- or in this case perfectly charred bacon (just the way I like it too, Liam!)- with her eyes darting back and forth between them like a tennis match. 5 stars.


Audiobook Review-

I loved this book when I read it last year, but it was so much fun to listen to! Troy Duran is lovely as always. I've listened to three other books narrated by Michelle Sparks and enjoy her work. Daniel Lewis is a new-to-me narrator, but I thought he did a great job and fit his character well. I hope to hear more of his narrations.

Double the Pleasure

I really enjoyed this instalment in the possessive monsters series. It was nice to have the mmf trope introduced. The FMC is introduced in previous books and it was nice to hear her story and background. It was also nice to get the story on the two MMCs who also made appearances in previous books. The story itself is sweet with a bit of angst and quite a bit of character development despite it being on the shorter side. The dynamic of the main relationship between all three characters works well, and the concerns of the FMC are very relatable. Overall she is relatable. The narrators worked extremely well together, and the distinct voices helped to give depth to each of the characters' personalities. I hope there will be more books that feature a multi male interest. This one was done very well.

The Covenant

These 3… I don’t know what took me so long to listen to this book!!! I’m not a huge FMM fan and that’s just ME.. but this book was fun, the storyline was good & the voice actors really brought these characters to life!! Hazel, Liam & Seth were everything I thought they’d be and more! Can’t wait for the next!!
