Clear presentation of research supporting author’s analysis of happiness as « whole person wellbeing » consisting of 5 core elements. The author also includes practical prompts for the reader to reflect on one’s own current status of each element and the steps projected to ameliorate that status.

Probably a book most of the world should read. On my happiness and spiritual journey, I have found this book confirms all the things needed for overall well-being. It was nice to find all this out for myself, and then hear that science backs it up. With the acronym SPIRE, I have found all to be very important, with spiritual well-being, and having healthy loving relationships, to be superior.

Tell Ben Sahar lays out easy steps with anecdotes to find happiness in every day life and to focus on the positive. He also explains how giving makes people happier, not just in the moment, but for residual happiness rather than receiving or just giving to yourself. It’s upbeat, easy to listen to. I’d highly recommend listening and taking notes there’s some real aha’s and gems in this book. Listen more than once !
