From Wall Street Journal and USA Today best-selling author M. Robinson, a coming-of-age, enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance filled with angst and all the feels.

I couldn’t remember a time before her...Harley Jameson.

Before she owned me.

Hated me.

Needed me.

Before I hated her....

Things were simple.

We had an understanding.

Bully. Fight. Hate. It’s what we did.

Mind. Body. Soul. It’s how we loved.

I thought nothing would ever change that, until everything did.

She was mine.

Always had been.

Always would be.

Nothing altered that.

Not how much I hated her.

Not how much she hated me.

Especially, not how much I hated...that I loved her.

Loved Harley and Jackson!
This is their story from childhood through mid- teenage years.
These two as kids were definitely a handful. What Jackson went through with his mother was gut wrenching and for Harley with all her hate to be the one to put the hate aside to be there was so sweet.
This is a duet so the ending of book one is not a happy one. It was like reliving all that heartbreak as a teenager all over.

The narrators were also amazing.

Can’t wait for the next book!

The first chapter into this and I knew I’d fall in love. Pulling pigtails on the playground is the ultimate enemies to lovers. I was torn between wanting to hurry up and listen to this and slowing down so it wouldn’t end so soon. Witty banter, pulling pranks, and even shedding some tears. It’s got it all and I want more!

I went into this book not knowing a thing about it, except that M. Robinson wrote it and that was enough for me. I was not expecting it to be what it was, so it kind of blew me away, in a good way, a very good way. The story is original and unique in the way it was told. It grabbed my attention right from the start and held it hostage the entire book, it tugged on my heartstrings too. Jackson Pierce and Harley Jameson lived next door to each other and their parents were friends, but they never were friends, it was more of a love/hate relationship, or as Harley put it in her letters, not love. Their story is told with glimpses in to their life in different time periods over the years, and their relationship was quite an angsty one, from childhood angst to adolescent angst. Those first few letters, the parents made them right to apologize for their behavior and how they treated each other, were a riot, Harley always had a way with words. Jackson was more of a planner with his revenge, but Harley always needed to win or get the last word in, or so she thought. Both harbored other feelings for each other but kept them at bay, and she was there for him when his life was turned upside down and whenever he really needed someone. Yet, he always pushed her away, despite not really wanting to, but in the end it did not matter, he lost her before he could ever have her, and it was his own fault. There is never a dull moment in this book, it is a wonderfully plotted story and there is plenty of drama, angst, witty and charming humor, heartfelt emotions and young love, not love. The world building and character growth are fantastic too. M. Robinson, thank you for this fantastic story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧And for the wonderful narration,Iris Ashley and Michael Norman Johnson did a fabulous job portraying these characters and did so with a complete understanding of their personas, giving each a voice that suited their character and was believable in every role they played. Ashley grasped Harley’s youthfulness and grew with her accordingly and Johnson did the same for Jackson, both handled the angst and snarky dialogue perfectly and were great performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the fantastic listen.

An Original, Well-Written Story! Great Narration🎧
