Sean's new body belongs to Mars Mihael, a noble's son with no combat training and a reputation for failure. He could train as a knight. He could study magic. But when he learns what Lamplighters actually do, the choice isn't hard.

They walk into the dark so others don't have to.

He's done that before.

Starting at Level 1 with a body that's never worked a hard day, Sean enters an Academy where half the students wash out and a quarter don't survive. But he's spent two decades learning to stay calm when everything goes wrong.

The job hasn't changed. Just the uniform.

Monsters in the mist. A world slowly drowning in white. And someone has to hold the line.

It was ok

It was a fun idea that I'm happy was explored. the over glazing of firefighters, continuity problems & a boring main character hold the story back from what is a unique & interesting world

Great book

Loved this book. The book was well written and narrated. Need more book like this.

I like the premise and story

I like the premise of the story, but I’m not sure the narrator is right for this one. He was just hard to listen to too many pauses. Just really hard to listen to the narrator, but the story is good enough to kind of get past it. It’s OK.

I enjoyed it

The story was interesting and the narrator did an even better job bringing it to life. I liked it.

Good story

Overall a good story. Starts a bit slow, but picks up.

Does have a lot of continuity errors.
