Detective Lou Giroux has always been good at keeping secrets—especially his own.

As a werewolf working for the New Orleans Police Department, Lou’s job is more than solving homicides. He’s a peacekeeper between the human world and the supernatural forces that lurk in the shadows of the Crescent City. But when the body of a young woman is found beneath the Crescent City Connection, it kicks off a series of chilling events that threaten to unravel the delicate balance Lou has fought to maintain.

Teaming up with his vampire partner, Dick, Lou is thrust into a tangled web of dark rituals, mysterious killers, and a power struggle that runs deep within the supernatural underworld. As the investigation deepens, so does the danger—one that forces Lou to confront not only the monsters around him but the beast within. In a city haunted by ancient magic and old grudges, how long can Lou keep his two worlds from colliding?

A murder mystery with bite, where the line between monster and man is dangerously thin.

The narrator of this story aboot a werewolf detective in New Orleans has a significant and tragic Canadian accent. It is like listening to Colin Mochrie portray the part of all of these folks from the Big Easy. It was very distracting. With different narration, the story may have come through better.

Generic supernatural story

Really liked world building of the supernatural side of city with such culture for “normies” like me. Would love to see this brought to film or tv!

Great Supernatural Detective Story

I enjoyed the book for several reasons, not really the horror type that I usually get, but good story , good characters, some humor and awhile don it. I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't filled with profanity.

A werewolf, a vampire and a wizard walk in a bar.

Interesting, almost campy, storyline with a different spin on werewolves. The story is told in the first person perspective. The "I" statements are peppered throughout the listen like a freshmen trying to add to the word count for an essay. The narration added a "campy" vibe - think the old-school Robin trying to explain something to Batman. I love supporting local authors especially when they write about my home state but this one missed the mark. Between the cheesy narration and the constant "I knew", "I felt" statements, it was a difficult listen.
