Die. She vows to cast some blame on a rather attractive heartbreaker!

Delirious with fever, Rosellen Lockharte summons all her strength to pen several letters from her attic deathbed. Soon all who set her willy-nilly on this path to perdition as a penmanship teacher will learn that in her final hour she forgave them. All except him. But why wait for Judgment Day to tell Viscount Stanford she thinks he is the most heinous of humans? Let her death be a burden to him forever. But the burden, it appears, is on her. For not only has she cheated death, but now the very same man who ruined her life has—albeit, reluctantly—come to her rescue. Certainly, not even the angels above could have predicted the chaos that will ensue—nor the magic of unexpected love....

Another great story by Ms Metzger. Terribly sinister characters and an heroine to root for. Love conquers all in the end! I laughed out loud a few times too.

Fun story

Excellent narration and story. This book is funny and clean. Not all of Barbaras books are clean as I learned the hard way (Worthy Wife), but this book was perfect in every way. Witty, well written and had a bit of romance. There were laugh out loud moments for me and wish more of her books were like this one and so far the only other that came close was Lady in Green.

Hilarious

While authors craft stories, it is the job of the narrator to tell the stories. , And in telling this story Ms Rathborne excels once gain, twice again, thrice again and on and on. The paring of Metzger and Rathborne is magical. As I said in previous reviews Ms Rathborne understands and conveys nuances, that one may miss in a first read. Each character is well defined and identifiable in her performances. A job well done.

One of my many favorites

If you like farces, this will be a fun book. I don’t because I know I’ll have to sit through everything that could go wrong before I get to see the resolution. I stayed with it long enough to get the gist and then skipped to the end for the comeuppance of the bad guys and the HEA I knew was inevitable. This a cleverly written story, so don’t hesitate to try it.

Metzger is always interesting
