Still unwed at 21, an unconventional high-spirited woman finds her affections sought by a handsome, devilishly charming earl, who is nicknamed "The Ideal" by the ton—for his combination of wealth and looks. Though at first she fights his advances, slowly she forms a heated alliance with him. But sparring with words soon turns into a succumbing passion....

The narrator is hilarious. The story made me laugh many times and left me feeling positive about the world. Delightful

Funny, sweet and romantic

It is a great story that soars above the typical regency romance. The engaging narration adds to the overall appeal.

Great story

It had mystery, smart heroine, witty banter, romance, and supernatural elements. It was hilarious from the beginning until the end. It is not easy to narrate comedy, but the narrator was excellent and on the spot.

Hilarious

So.... as with my previous reviews of/for this dynamic duo, this is a delightful listen. Barbara Metzger writes the story and Pippa Rathborne delivers the embodiment! Perfection! I am a fan so therefore I can be considered biased. But (with a my index finger pointing up) I am also discerning. An author can write a witty, funny, sad, compelling story that is really great! But, if the narrator has not the perspicacity to deliver the performance needed to breathe life into the author's story, then we have disappointed fans! I have yet to be disappointed by Ms Rathborne. Her intuitional renditions (can I put those two words together?) of the characters is on target and the story animates.

Metzger and Rathborne pairing is worth listening!
