Viscount Aubrey "Stony" Wellstone is at the end of his rope - and the end of his family's once-great fortune. Desperate, he tries his luck at the gaming tables, where an offer to exchange his debts for a gentlemanly favor leads to a profitable new profession. The fiercely independent, flame-tressed Miss Ellianne Kane would normally have no use for an upper-class attendant - even one as striking as Stony - but she needs Aubrey's help. Will Aubrey prove to her that there is far more to him than a source of money?

If you could sum up A Perfect Gentleman in three words, what would they be?

witty, sparkling, fun

What did you like best about this story?

This has always been one of my favorite books by Barbara Metzger. I have read the book many times and am familiar with the characters and plot. I was pleased when Audible made this available and I expected a good listen. Something unexpected happened. The narration was so excellent it gave me a new appreciation of this favorite book of mine.
The narrator's was dead on how I pictured the characters sounding. The intonation and inflection brought the characters to life.

Which scene was your favorite?

The first time Stoney meets Ellianne. Ellianne is in the middle of creating one of her charts. It involved cutting and pasting various pieces of paper together. Needless to say many things get stuck to her gloves, etc, much to the dismay of Stoney. Hilarious. Ellianne's aunt's sotto voce comments were also very funny.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Even though I have read the book many times the narration made the book come alive in a great way and listen in one go.
