Once upon a time, there was a girl who dressed up and went to a big party at the palace. When she was there, she met a prince. They danced and fell in love....

Damn good line. Too bad I don’t believe a word of it anymore.

My name is Claire Montgomery, and I’m not a princess. I’m a fighter. I worked hard to earn my place on the emergency image repair team for one of the biggest public relations companies in the country. We’ve been called to the renowned Chicago headquarters of Stone Global Corporation, where it’s our job to clean up a heap of the Stone family’s filthiest laundry. Our success will be the biggest victory of my career. I’m on my game. I’m ready.

Why doesn’t ready include a contingency plan for Killian Stone?

This book started out fine but dang Claire for being “smart?” She came off really stupid! How old is she? 20? The constant crying for no reason at all was so freakin annoying... For someone in PR she sure enjoyed crowds before she got herself “together.” I truly wish there were real problems instead of her conjuring up problems... a supposed heroine who doesn’t know her back from front like a silly teenager... I started to wish Killian actually left her, I did like his character... she just came off more annoying than it was worth.

This book could have been so much better IF the writer made Claire more realistic and not a dumb 20 something trapped in a mind of a silly teenage girl who got lucky to snag a heart of a nice guy 🙄

If you are looking for constant crying, a girl who isn’t able to even enjoy the simplest carnal pleasures without talking to herself the whole time until Killian asks her to call his name? I mean Margeaux came off more mature even though she’s the villain and calculating.

I don’t know... I’m usually open to HEA but with a better developed story. This story really does have good bones but the childish behavior, the constant crying and her eyes "stinging" all the time? I was over it and ready to give up.

I don’t know how much the book was but not worth the credit.

Could have been better

Good God, no one talks like that ! Jason Clark is brilliant as always but the female narrator is just ruining everything. A half an hour sex scene narrated on a whisper, no passion, no intonation, I almost fell asleep standing listening to this. The entire book is missing emotion and the buildup is way too long, paired with the horrible narration it just ruins everything.

Snooze fest narration

There were many times I wanted to stop this book. The story was cute but the similes were excessive.

This was a great story. The ending was kind of disappointing. I thought it should of ended with the main characters getting married and living happily ever after. Great narrators. I’ve listened to the two of them before. I love their interpretation of the storyline. Great writing as usual.

redhat queen

I can’t finish this book with the voice of female whispering the whole time, such a shame since I liked the story but my ears couldn’t handle the female narrative.
