A small town, fake dating, ex's brother romance from Amazon bestselling author Susan Henshaw.

Christy:

After a brutal breakup, I swore to never step on Seddledowne soil again.

But then the school board begs me to be their new principal. It's my dream job.

Working with my ex or living by my toxic family? It's a no brainer.

The students are great. The ex didn't freak. Things are good.

Until my sister FaceTimes while I'm at the gym, unveiling a humiliating Find Christy a Husband scheme.

I'm praying for a Savior.

Suddenly, I'm being kissed—intensely—as my family watches. But it's who's kissing me that's shocking. My ex's hot, lawyer, playboy brother. The one with a Never Initiate the Kiss First rule.

Holden: So maybe I let myself fall for my brother's ex. No big deal. I just won't tell her.

But when I enter the gym, I see her there, about to cry.

I overhear her conversation.

Next thing I know, I've broken my number one rule.

Whatever. I can roll that off.

But the fake dating she demands after? All cuddling and no kissing with this stunner?

No way. Not happening.

Get ready for fake dating and forbidden love, dark pasts and daring rescues. But always a hard-earned happily ever after.

This is book two of the Seddledowne series and it did not disappoint!
I love this series because the characters are so real and easy to relate to. They have experiences that make me think of my life or of the lives of my friends and family. I laughed, I cried, and I swooned!
Holden, the MMC, is know as the “playboy” of the family. He always has a new date and isn’t interested in relationships.
Christy, the FMC, is a strong woman who has always pushed through life’s challenges and tried to keep the peace.
When their world’s collide, the tragedies of the past begin to unfold. It’s an emotional roller coaster that’s worth the ride!
This is a sweet, clean romance that will still sweep you off your feet. If you loved One More Thing, you will love this one too!

This picks up right where “One Last Thing” (Book 1) ends.
We met Christy in Book 1, and just when you think you can’t possibly like her—she goes and proves us all wrong.
Holden is haunted by a past that refuses to stay buried, and it’s seriously gripping.

This emotional contemporary romance is packed with laughs, angst, suspense, and is one wild ride through Seddledowne leaving you on the edge of your seat.
The narrators are 🔥🔥🔥

Henshaw’s books always have some heavier topics and this one was no different. I found myself having fun and laughing at times and I spent times being on edge for the characters because I was nervous of what was going to happen to them. I’m very glad I read this one. It really helped me understand Holden’s behavior in some of the later books. I didn’t think I was going to like Christy as much as I did but she definitely grew on me as I got to know her. I loved Holden from close to the beginning but I was definitely side eyeing him after the first book. His personality was the fun softie and I loved that. I think it helped balance out the personalities of the siblings.

Narration: I thought both narrators did a fabulous job with portraying all of the emotions that the characters went through. I can’t wait to continue on with this series! I want to listen to all of them on audio when they come out!

Always Entertaining!

Holden and Christy are relatable, with both trying to move on from their complicated pasts and secure a solid future amongst all the unknowns, making even their fake dating relationship seem natural and enduring. As they navigate the small town Seddledown gossip and townspeople, they also confront their true feelings and it is just so sweet to see their growth. There was humor, heartache and all sorts of swoony moments in this second installment of the Dupree family.
The dual narration was performed by new-to-me narrators, Summer Roberts and Andrew Gibson. They brought the sweet charm into the characters along with all the emotions for an enjoyable listening experience.
