He's a grumpy cowboy and a single dad. He's also my overprotective brother's best friend...and when I agreed to stay at his ranch, falling for him was never in the plan.

While standing in the barn, I feel myself drawing closer to him, willingly closing what little space is between us. The chemistry is palpable. Sparks are exploding.

My brother is going to kill us. But I can't bring myself to pull away.

Seeing him, I've managed to forget the heartbreak from my divorce.

In my head, I know pursuing anything beyond a friendship with him is asking for trouble.

I came here to get back on my feet...

But in my heart, I secretly hope he sweeps me off 'em.

Off-Limits Cowboy is a sweet and swoony small-town, off-limits, single-dad romcom with plenty of sizzle while keeping the bedroom door closed. It's the first standalone story in Kristine W. Joy's sweet romcom series following the Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch.

Was so good I recommend. The story made it feel like you were a part of it.

The whole thing

More than once I rolled my eyes at the bad lines. The story felt forced and slow. The narrators talked too fast and at one point I had to look up and make sure they weren't AI because they were missing some inflection. Also, no one in Texas pronounces pecan "pee-can".

Not great

This is a zero spice story. Most of the book was about how the brother wouldn’t be happy if they were together rather than creating a bond and relationship together. For a 25 and 30 year old, you would expect more emotional maturity. It’s a good read if you like worry and fluff.

Good Story but

She's a pick-me girl and he's a manchild and by the end they still have zero chemistry.
