Frank had one rule for the end of the world: stay fed, stay moving, and stay out of other people’s business.

At sixty-five, with failing knees and a lifetime of regrets, he’s long given up on heroics. But when he stumbles across fifteen-year-old Maisie and her asthmatic little sister, Zoe—two kids trying to outrun a world where a single cough can wake the dead—Frank breaks his own rule.

He doesn’t want to lead. They don’t want to trust him. But danger forces them together, and the road ahead doesn’t care about age, fear, or good intentions.

Now Frank is guiding the girls toward a distant aunt and whispered rumors of a safe zone—on a trek that will test his body, challenge his beliefs, and demand a kind of courage he thought he’d buried long ago.

I liked the storyline, the characters, and the author’s writing style. I hope the author writes more books.

Very good read.

This audiobook was pretty good not very zombie gory It would have been better in my opinion if a human voice was used instead of AI. Certain things cannot be replaced like human emotion even though the robot voice did have some emotion but its obvious it’s not a real human

Great apocalypse stand alone book

I was invested in the survival of these people. I was missing Zoe and her teddy bear even though they were fictional.

The world building was great and the emotional connections you feel to these people and a teddy bear will stay with you.

Five 🌟 Dystopian

Really enjoyed this story, the characters are well written and compelling; intelligent dialogue; believable situations. The virtual reader was the best I have heard so far, with almost no mispronunciations and even a few inflections. No sex, little swearing and no gore.

ZA done well

Good Story, I'm going to continue with the series. While I don't care for the virtual narrators, but this one isn't too bad, and heck it's included in my membership.
