Sara had always been untouchable, his sister's best friend, and the girl next door...

Smokejumper Aiden Callaway never questioned his job until a fire took the life of his friend, Kyle, and left Aiden with injuries and fractured memories. The truth may clear Aiden of blame but destroy Kyle's reputation and hurt the people he left behind.

Sara has never forgiven or forgotten the way Aiden brought their teenage relationship crashing down. But the sparks between Aiden and Sara have been smoldering for a very long time. Sara is afraid to take another chance on the man who broke her heart, and Aiden knows better than anyone how dangerous an intense fire can be.

As teenagers they weren't ready for each other. Are they ready now? Or will secrets derail their second chance at love?

the Calloway clan is great ,can't wait to read more of the series. fun book.

storyline is good.

I swear, this story could have been wrapped up in fifty pages.

I like the second-chances theme, but the back and forth was tiring and the "big reveal" wasn't a "big reveal" at all.

The narrator did a good job, no issues there.

Long drawn-out story...

Fun! I enjoyed the way Freethy braided suspense with romance. Narration could've been edited better.

Fun story, decent reading.

Where does On a Night Like This rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Because the story line is so good I'd say this audiobook would rank in my top 10.

What was one of the most memorable moments of On a Night Like This?

When Aiden finds Sarah at her house after she finds the box of pictures and sweeps her off to Redding for an escape.

What does Robin Rowan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Well, I have to say I was not very happy with Ms. Redding's performance. The women often sounded pouty or too your for their ages. Many of the men were dramatically too snappish or angry. In fact she made everyone too drama filled much of the time. I have listened to many books now and there is just no reason to have the characters sound so poised for dramatics so much of the time. It would do Barbara Freethy's books a boon to find a new narrator As her stories are very good and her characters are very likeable.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are many but I suppose to pick one it might be when Aiden and Sarah go to visit Kyles Wife.

Any additional comments?

This book has a story that moves right along. it kept me listening and wanting more. It ended leaving some dangling ended that makes me want to move quickly on to the next book in the series. Barbara Freethy is a skilled writer.

Enticing story to the end!

I love this book, the writing, and the characters. The story has some mystery but is mainly about 2 people finding their way through life's trials to a happily ever after ending. The narration is good but the male voices were hard to differentiate from the female voices at times making it difficult to know who was speaking.

Enjoyable story!
