I love this book.

the Narrators brought this book to life. they did an amazing job bringing out the characters personalities. listening to this book was like reading it for the first time again. this series holds a special place in my heart.

Maddie and Luca

Aside from Scarlett's Irish accent when it was supposed to be "maybe Australian or South African", the narration was good.

I would have liked to have heard the story of why Maddie hated Luca in the first place. That explanation mid-book was Very Vague

Maddie is a very talented pastry chef. Celebrity chef and restaurateur Luca has had his eye on her for a while, from a professional standpoint. They meet when she's in LA for a televised baking competition - but she doesn't find out until the next day that he's not only a judge, but he's also her nemesis - for the above named vague reasons.

He's also got a reputation as a playboy, with a personal assistant who thinks it's her job to find him appropriate arm candy for events. But now that he's met Maddie, he has zero interest in toeing Astrid's idea of the line. Cue third act drama here.

Regardless, this was an enjoyable book - although there wasn't nearly as much poker as I thought there would be (haha)

Also - I think I'm kind of tired of all the power plays & edging. Just me, saying I think it's a little overdone.

Loved the how the guy falls in love first

Absolutely love how he falls in love with her first. Couldn’t put it down when I first read it and now rereading/listening with my husband. It’s his first time and he absolutely loved it and can’t wait to listen to the second book! We both laughed. Plus he never gives up on her and that’s how it should be with men. Absolutely amazing job Maggie and the narrators in this book! Can’t wait to listen to the second book!!

I have loved Poker Face since the beginning. My entrance to the Maggie verse. I have cherished this book for years and to finally have it on audio it's a dream come true.

Maddie & Luca

Oh. My. Goodness. You won't want to miss one moment of this fantastic, laugh out loud, enemies to lovers romance. “Poker Face” has combustible chemistry, sexual tension, angst, and is completely mesmerizing! The push and pull, and back and forth between these two is OFF THE CHARTS. I felt all of Maddie & Luca’s emotions; the happiness, the heartache, the fear and excitement, the longing, Maggie’s hatred for Luca AND the love they have for each other. This book is not to be missed!

Scarlet Dorian & Ross Pendleton do an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with their emotions, attitude and personality. They do more than giving their characters their voices, they fall into the roles and become the character.
