great character development, great settings and very innovative method of dispatching evil. we need smoke in rhis day and age more rhan ever

One of Johnstone's best.

I am a big fan of mountain man books. R. turner great narrator. The preacher series are so much fun, I wondered if the other characters could measure up. this book certainly did. the story, characters and of course riveting narration. Just really good.

The best one I have listened to.

This book kept you really interested the whole time. The characters and the action was great. I would recommend the book to my friends.

Smoke Rules!

Great story! J. Rodney Turner does incredible narration. I remember the older abridged versions narrated by David Strathairn, with the sound effects, and remembered how much I loved them. J. Rodney Turner lives up to those memories. I must have, if you love mountain man westerns. Four Stars
