Eldon Waters was a prepper, and had been ever since he married Felicia Gomez. He heard news of the economic collapse as he was getting ready to start a new work week. He knew immediately that chaos and violence would quickly erupt. His first priority was defending his family. He took his marriage vows seriously. He was prepared to lay down his life to keep his wife and children safe. That meant that they would need to escape the Dallas -- Fort Worth -- Denton Metroplex to somewhere a lot less crowded. His brother-in-law, Guillermo, and his wife Christina, would follow his lead. The first decision they must make was where to go to escape the civil unrest that Eldon and Felicia knew was coming to their suburban home in the metroplex. Eldon and Felicia, along with Guillermo and Christina, were deeply committed Christians. Their faith informed their everyday lives, and was their moral compass guiding everything that they did. Their family's faith would attract others who were looking for something larger than themselves to give purpose to their lives.

The Congregation

Loved the story. The characters were interesting and believable. The setting was good. I just don’t like AI narrative readings. If you are going to use AI, the story needs to be written differently.

Overall very good book, want the second one. Dislike when get into a story and only one book left hanging.

Virtual voice really doesn’t understand the English language very well and that does make the listen a bit more difficult.

Good Book

Good book to read. It was interesting and gave another perspective on how someone would survive a failure of civilization.
