Stuart Jenner's job is high stress, high stakes, and everything he's strived for. So why, when the apex of his career is within reach, does he stumble? At his doctor's insistence, he books a privately chartered yacht to sail around the Whitsundays for two weeks of sun, surf, and sex. When his friend-with-benefits bails on him at the last minute, Stuart decides to go alone.

Foster Knight left the rat race behind six years ago, bought a yacht, and now calls the Great Barrier Reef his home. Sailing tourists around tropical waters is all in a day's work, and he's never been happier. When his next client arrives alone, the two-week charter will be the most private job he's ever had.

Foster can see how stressed and exhausted Stuart is, and he promises him extensive rest and relaxation. Stuart slowly realizes his original plan for two weeks of sun, surf, and sex might not be lost yet. Confined to a yacht, isolated by aqua-colored oceans and the sweltering sun, Stuart and Foster are about to find out just how hot the tropics can get.

Contains mature themes.

I originally read this back in 2018, but this is my first time listening. I'm going to post my review from when I read it- I gave it 5*. I think now I'd probably do 4*, but we'll leave it at 5.
I really enjoy Antony Ferguson's narration, although it was kind of hard to distinguish between the 2 characters most of the time. If I wasn't paying really close attention to whose chapter it was, it would take me awhile to figure out who was speaking. But other than that, very enjoyable!

Original review:
What an absolutely perfect summer read! Sunshine, sailing, smiles, sex, and speedos...what more could you ask for?!? This book made me want to rent a private yacht and sail off into the sunset.

Honestly, Private Charter is such a fun, flirty story.
Stuart is so cheeky (I love that word) and such a tease! This vacation, and meeting Foster, is exactly what he needed. Seeing how free and happy Foster is on the open sea, far from the confines of the corporate world, Stuart's eyes are open to ideas he never thought possible. I loved that Foster made him realize there was more to life than how he'd been living.

A little drama, a little excitement, and a whole lot of sexual chemistry filled the pages of Private Charter. I loved it.

A fun, flirty read.

Great story best written. Good humor. Codgerly yet smooth captain. Modern knight, very. Make that two modern knights. Wayward and incorrigible flirt more adorable than obnoxious, impeccably timed. Steamy and realistic sex. Great low angst emo well played. The best travelogue bits ever. I was there.

I listened to it twice in 24 hours and I want to hear it again. Perfect narration goes without saying. I give it ten points it's that far above the rest.

I love this perfect novel

Cute, enjoyable enough listen. Fairly light. It had its moments, but it won’t be one I’ll go back and listen to over and over. Good beach read.
Not a lot of character voice distinction in the narration. Apart from that, he did well.

Who knew a little white Speedo could be its own character?!

It was a great listen about two people who fall in love on a boat off the coast of Australia…thoroughly enjoyed it!

Great listen

There is nothing wrong with this story - it’s a smooth ‘sailing’ love story - I enjoy this author very much - this did not have much LOL moments - so don’t expect rom com—but more of a low angst love story that has you rooting for two kindred spirits

Great 4 star book
