DOUBLE TROUBLE

Rumors of unrest lead Fran and Teacher to the port of Seedrun, where the intrepid duo uncovers yet another large-scale slaving operation. In their quest to liberate the kidnapped children, they find themselves unexpectedly playing guardian to a pair of twins from a very special lineage--one that might just have yanked Fran and Teacher into the middle of a civil war!

Still very enjoyable however the drastic shift in tone is a bit jarring. Six different individuals got tortured throughout the course of this story on separate occasions. Once or twice is whatever but after the third it starts to feel cliche. Also felt like some plot hooks could have been handled better. A big villain getting dealt with abruptly in a single sentence is unsatisfying.

Much darker tone

The story is starting to take a darker tone. The main protagonist, the sword, seems to be taking a step back this time and letting the girl do most of the work here, even when he should "definitely" have done something. Im liking the series but things always get missed when the story goes down that "massive amount of skills at your disposal" style but doesn't use them, and the sword keeping quiet for the most part doesn't help. Aura blade and the silence skill aren't being used where they should, as well as the newly evolved double mind, transform, time stop, and duplicating skill either. The sword stopped assisting with magic to support mid combat now too. I'm always wondering why none of the stealth skills like camouflage is never mentioned during sneaking parts or to just hide from unwanted attention. The ability to determine lies somehow still catches the sword unaware. Narrations are still amazing though and I do like the current story.

Good narration, nice story, lazy sword though

This was always one of my favorite arcs in the series and still is. I really hope to see it animated in the second season of the anime. It is excellently written and great acting by the narrator in doing both male and female characters.

One of my favorite arcs!

It was a good story but my 1 gripe would be fran could have easily taken care of most issues but it felt like she was just standing there as a passive observer while people were fighting for their lives teacher or fran could have used magic to help more but they felt frozen when scum 1 monologuing how he will turn everyone into slaves and burn their houses down. only after he does something worse does fran seem to unfreeze and instantly deal with them and this happens more than once

Unskippable Cutscene
