This series continues to be one of my absolute favorites. Love all the authors work, and his ability comes through in this entry too.
It’s more of the same, so I won’t go into great detail but if you have enjoyed the worldbuilding and pace of the first 2 then you’ll love this one too.

Fantastic

i think this has been about 5 or 6 years in the making and I like this book more than the Grand Game. This book did feel rushed, like all of a sudden autor just decided to continue the story. If you were waiting on a 3rd book I'm sure you don't need my review to follow up on the first two excellent books. This one I feel should have been longer and the release time leaves much to be desired if we are in for another 5 years. I still look forward to the series continuing though.

Like the bones are there for an epic series. The world-building and the magic system alone are top tier. The story feels familiar, but different at the same time. The scenario we enter into with the MC is dope. Him being an OP magic user and a cripple at the same time ...crazy!!! I got into this story immediately, and i had high hopes for books 2 and 3. I've been a little disappointed since then for a couple reasons. It just boils down to execution. The concept is awesome. I can see what the author was aiming for, and I love the idea ...but the actual story-telling doesn't match up to the level of the idea.
Pacing is a bit on the slow side in some ways, and then crazy fast in others.
Like, the development of the settlement n side characters, it's been a few weeks in this new world but they talk about stuff as if its been years. The love interest thing, comes completely out of nowhere n feels totally forced, n then after introducing it they immediately talk about stuff as if they've been together for yrs.
The pacing is strange, we're in book 3, but the MC is still crippled n basically still in the newbie zone, yet there's been enough time to do all that other stuff. It feels weird.

I know I'm nitpicking, but those details matter. You have to be consistent otherwise it can throw readers out of the immersion. Some of the stuff is cringey too. You can tell the author is better at writing about using magic, n describing combat scenes than he is at writing about emotions and relationships.

The story is fine, it's even good. I'm still gonna keep reading it ...but I feel like it could've been waaaaaaay better

I love what this story could've been...

I absolutely love this series. I rate it the same way that I would rate primal, Hunter, monster, Hunter and many other good series. the only thing that detracts from this is the fact that so long in between books the length of the books

Love this series!

I love how detailed this book is. It goes in all kinds of aspects of the story end of the overall world. I am dying for a book number four.
