A Sequel That Delivers on Every Level

This book was a strong continuation of the series, and in many ways, I think it’s even better than the first book! The writing is sharp and engaging, and the pacing kept me hooked from start to finish. I loved the balance between nonstop action and the very human, emotional side of the characters. Their internal conflicts and vulnerabilities gave the story more depth and made the intense moments that much more powerful. The way the author portrayed trauma and PTSD through the main character was very moving for me. Just like in the first book, it was woven into the story in such a thoughtful and realistic way. I appreciated how the trauma he experienced became part of his growth and fueled his determination. The balance of action and humanity really made this book (and series) unique. I also loved the clever references to Earth that were sprinkled throughout the book. They were such a fun touch! Overall, this was an excellent read that had me fully invested the whole way through. I can’t wait to dive into book three!

Non-stop action that had me glued to my headphones! Clear your schedule. This one is great!

I'm that person who usually thinks sequels are disappointing, but Book 2 completely shattered my expectations. From the very first chapter, it's pure adrenaline - I found myself saying "they could end it right here and it would be 5/5 for me" at least three times, only to discover there were still hours of content left! Its been years since I have read a story with so many twists and turns. It was a surreal experience!

Once again, the narrator skillfully captures Lax's tough facade hiding his tender heart, but this installment introduces us to Cairn. The voice performance was exceptional! You're going to enjoy this one!

Fair warning: once you start this one, clear your schedule. I stayed up way too late because I literally couldn't stop listening. The pacing is relentless in the best possible way. If you loved Book 1, prepare to have your mind blown. This is how you do a sequel!

There are two types of books in this world..

... and this is the type I would recommend. If you like something in the vein of Firefly and Starcraft, I would say this is a book for you.

Fantastic Book

I absolutely loved this book devouring it in 2 days. I really loved the first book in the series but I enjoyed this one even more. The narrator did an awesome job with the different voices for each character. Really just overall perfection between the story and the performance.

Great sequel with great villain.

Loved the continuation of this series. My favorite part was the villain of this book. Both how he was written and how he was narrated.
