A completely re-imagined epic of the man known as Robin Hood from multi-award-winning, bestselling author Stephen R. Lawhead—now with the complete trilogy in one volume.

For centuries, the legend of Robin Hood and his band of thieves has captivated imaginations. Now the familiar tale takes on new life as it boldly relocates to the dark forests of the Welsh countryside.

Hunted like an animal by Norman invaders, Bran ap Brychan, heir to the throne of Elfael, has abandoned his father’s kingdom and fled to the greenwood. There, in the primeval forest of the Welsh borders, danger surrounds him—for this woodland is a living, breathing entity with mysterious powers and secrets. Bran must find a way to make it his own if he is to survive and become King Raven.

From deep in the forest, Bran, Will Scarlet, and Friar Tuck form a daring plan for deliverance, knowing that failure means death for them all—and the dreams of the oppressed people of Wales.

This acclaimed trilogy (Hood, Scarlet, Tuck) conjures up an ancient past and holds a mirror to contemporary realities. Prepare yourself for an epic tale that dares to shatter everything you thought you knew about Robin Hood.

I have enjoyed the storyline so far in "Hood". I bought the book set and am listening my way through all of them. Even with the American narrator, I have enjoyed the lilt in his voice and tempo in which he reads. He does mispronounce many common phrases, however, I'm sure that being an American, he may have never been exposed to the correct pronunciation.

The story brings visions of Game of Thrones and makes me think of a continuation of King Bran's story. In all my years of reading books based on English, Welsh, Irish and Scottish lore, I had never heard names like Bran, Briene, and Brychaen until reading Game of Thrones and now the King Raven series. Bran becoming a raven is very like the Bran of Game of Thrones.

Regardless of the story giving a feel of linking to another author's work, it is very well done.

It's so hard to find good decently convincing historically based stories like this anymore, thank you!

Well done in character and story development. Attention to historical and cultural details. Narrator was good as well. I didn’t like the background interludes of music in book three it was annoyingly distracting. But overall i thoroughly enjoyed this series!
